*Ingredients* :
4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
125g butter (unsalted), cold and cut into small pieces
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
*In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt.
*Add the cold, diced butter to the dry ingredients. Use your fingers to rub the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles breadcrumbs.
*Add the milk, eggs and vanilla extract to the mixture, then knead the dough until it comes together. If it’s too dry, you can add a bit more milk.
*Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness.
*Cut the dough into small squares or desired shapes.
*Heat vegetable oil in a pan for frying. Fry the chin chin pieces until they are golden brown.
*Remove the fried chin chin from the oil and place them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
*Allow the chin chin to cool before serving.
