Uruan Cultural Festival
Nothing quite brings the Ibibios together like the Uruan cultural carnival. The diaspora and those who briefly stepped abroad quickly find themselves on flights from the farthest corners into the welcome embrace of this Ibiaku Uruan festival. “Welcome home” takes on a different meaning when sitting in the stands watching different cultural displays, soaking in a mix of typical Akwa Ibom accents, various traditional music, and sporting excellence.
Akwa Ibom Christmas Carol Festival
As the festive season unfolds, the endearing people of Akwa Ibom State are prepared for the annual tradition of the Akwa Ibom Christmas Carols Festival to be held in Uyo, the state capital. This year, the AKCAROLSFEST will bring together a host of worshippers and feature the Guinness World Record Choir (holding the record as the “Largest Group of Carol Singers in the world”).
The festival will also showcase other chorale groups and some of the best local and international gospel artistes of our time with the theme: “ARISE AND SHINE FOR THY LIGHT HAS COME”.
